Review of May (2003) by Mitch R — 14 Jan 2008
This was a truly great film. Without an enourmous budget to back him, Lucky McKee was able to create a film that was both artistically beautiful and uniquely horrifying. Although McKee did an excellent nob behind the director's chair, special praise must be given to Angela Bettis.
Her expert performance as May really helped us to understand just how socially detached poor May really was. My only qualm about the film is with it's final shot, which seems somewhat cliche, although the five minutes before it are must see horror cinema.
All in all, I can honestly say that May is the best horror movie I've seen in a good long while.
