Review of May (2003) by Louis F — 29 Mar 2011
May goes from 0-20, then from 20-30, then from 30-OVER 9000 in about 30 minutes.
This film is like Welcome To The Dollhouse meets...I don't know, Psycho?
May is wholly original, smart, demented, dark, funny, over the top, under the radar, under your skin and burrowed way deep into your brain pan (squish).
I haven't seen a movie like it and I've seen a lot of movies.
I spent the majority of the time watching the film, curled up in a ball on my bed, with my legs clutched to my chest, shouting "HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT" at the screen.
Awesome. Like if Todd Solondoz and John Waters made a film with Tobe Hooper and Roman Polanski. A film of perfect balance and form. With a perfect cast and a perfect story and a perfect ending.
I can't say enough good things about this movie.
