Review of Maximum Overdrive (1986) by William C — 15 Jul 2008
Unintentionally funny all the way though. Stephen King surprisingly sticks to the original tone of the story, but he's no Kubrick.
Even with the tacked-on and unlikely happy ending, this might have worked if he'd hired a competent director; the seedy North Carolina setting was perfect.
Look for Yeardly Smith (Lisa Simpson) in a role that explains why she found her calling in voice acting.
