Review of Maximum Overdrive (1986) by Duncan R — 15 Jan 2008
Brilliant 80's movie (Stephen King's 1st) about the machines taking over! Although most of this is far from scary (people are strangled by the headphones on their personal stereos and, at one point, some sprinklers try to attack someone by, well, sprinkling at them.
..) it also has the odd unexpected moment of brutality (a little kid gets steamrollered and you get to see his head explode - nice!) and, perhaps most importantly, an amazing soundtrack by AC/DC that really ties everything together.
Will make you wary of ever using a Coke machine again...
