I must admit, I have a soft spot for Mark Wahlberg. So I am biased. I like him in this movie.
"Max Payne" is very obvisouly comic book style - almost every frame can very well make a nice, dark, edgy wallpaper for your desktop. However, the excellent play of light and dark, of colour and non-colour is not really backed up by the story. No matter how great the movie looks, it loses in plot and lack of action. Nothing really happens in this movie.
Must see for the great imagery. But only for this.
