Review of Max Payne (2008) by Dillon S — 24 May 2010
Insanely-awesome movie! The action is seriously freaking cool. The gunfights are wicked. The slo-mo scenes are so neat, reminds you of The Matrix. The story is very interesting and dark.
I've never played the game before, but I love the movie. I've heard from a lot of people saying that the movie isn't as good as the game... But seriously, for you f***ing critics out there..come on. You don't even know half of the stress, time, money or committment people go through when it comes to making an action-packed film like this. For starters, directors are always going to make movies, especially video game-based movies, the way they want them to be through their eyes. Secondly, people need to stop beating a dead horse because they think they can do so much better than the director while sitting on their couch stuffing their fat face eating potato chips and being judgmental when they don't even know what the hell the definition of cinematography means. All in all, the point I'm making here is this: to anyone who says that this movie sucks, you need to lighten up. Stop being so damn negative. Look at the bright sides and seriously stop complaining because either you like something or you don't (period).
Anyways, this movie is just a really cool, entertaining film that'll get your blood pumped up. Mark Wahlberg does a great job acting in my opinion, Mila Kunis did a good job as well, while looking hot, and Ogla Kurylenko was somewhat very sexy. The special effects were amazing - a lot better than I had expected from a movie of this stature. Overall, a wicked movie that anyone who likes guns, action and a dark and gritty story setting should definetly watch.
