Review of Max Payne (2008) by Michael P — 25 May 2010
I'm glad Ludacris made an appearance, but I wonder why he was needed. The storyline was nothing too special. The idea was good, the plot was - mediocre. The mood and settings and graphic wasn't half as bad as I thought, and I quite liked it, it's no Sin City (xGary Xx (Flixter user's comment)), but it had the same mood and style, which is great.
Wahlberg now has this label on him, the Bourne label, and he will have to do better than that to show he can really act and not just be Bourne, he has to make viewers believe. I still had the Bourne feeling watching this, so depending on how big of a fan you are, you might not care.
