Review of Max (2016) by Jason D — 01 Jul 2015
When I first saw the trailer for "Max", I was really looking forward to seeing the movie. I do, really enjoy, clean, good, family movies. A story about a military canine with PTSD was something that really interested me.
To my disappointment, that was not the movie we got. The script for this movie was the thing that bothered me the most. We were sold a movie about a dog, whose handler is tragically killed in battle, that now has to adjust to civilian life for the first time himself.
That premise alone is what interested me. Instead, what we ended up with was a silly heist film with bad actors. I am not kidding, the acting in this movie was terrible. I didn't buy the son. or the dad.
The friend, Tyler, I saw right through. I never cared about anyone in this movie except, Max. The dog that played Max was great. I fell in love with max at the very beginning, and rooted for him throughout the entire show.
This dog was amazing. I believed this dog in everything he did on screen. I have to give props to the dog that played Max for being the BEST actor on the screen.
