Review of Max (2002) by Jesse C — 04 Oct 2005
A History of Violence.
Story Development/Believability: 8.
Wow. All I can say is that this movie's storyline was very well developed. I totally believed everything, and felt like this could actually happen. The little girl in the movie needed to be shot in the head, however.
Sound Design/Musical Score: 6.
I don't remember it detracting, but I don't remember it adding.
Cinematography/Editing: 7.
Pretty standard for the most part, but some well shot scenes of blood and guts. Even though I could have done without some of those shots, they were done well.
Actor Performance/Connection to Audience: 8.
I would give this movie an 9 if the little girl wasn't in the movie. She was seriously so bad, I walked out saying, "She needed to die. Seriously.".
Directing/Achievement of Goal: 8.
Probably pretty much what the director wanted, minus the little girl.
Entertainment: 9.
Very few "slow" parts, in my opinion. A lot of character building made the story more entertaining. Takes a twist in a direction you don't expect. Nice.

Story Development/Believability: 7.
The way the story developes really puts you in the shoes of Hitler. You're there for the whole ride. However, it drags severly at certain parts.
Sound Design/Musical Score: 8.
Light classical music and not much scoring do this film justice.
Cinematography/Editing: 8.
Very unique visuals.
Actor Performance/Connection to Audience: 7.
I want to say that Hitler's character is amazing, but John Cusack just isn't right for the role. Sorry, John. You're way to modern.
Directing/Achievement of Goal: 9.
Probably exactly what they intended.
Entertainment: 6.
Slow. Dragging. Not many explosions. Overall, pretty interesting.
