I'd be very curious to see how much of this was inspired by truth. I don't think that this is merely an "imaginative what-if fantasy." But either way, it is fascinating and frightening.
I think it essential to humanize the monster and this film accomplishes it. The last sequence is especially moving. A very interesting piece of work.
