Review of Maverick (2015) by Simon W — 15 Oct 2009
This really is classic screenplay writing from one of the industries old school gods. Everything in it gets a pay off. Everything from the biggest set up to the smallest character trait ends up coming full circle - And it's all played with a jovial, borderline slap stick ease that used to be the norm for the comedies of old.
The three leads are brilliant together and so much fun to be around - and then you get the great bit parts jumping in to elevate things further. This is one of those movies that makes me smile from beginning to end.
