If William Goldman wrote the script that exploded the western genre with Butch and Sundance then here he manages to obliterate the genre completely. Mel Gibson plays a western hero so far against traditional type but does it with style and panache.
He really plays a great role. The supporting cast is also great and Jodie Foster is just awesome. Man I just love her. The cinematography is beautiful and the score and soundtrack are good, coinciding with a rise in country music.
A really fun film to watch.
