Review of Mausam (2011) by Aman A — 25 Sep 2011
Photographic, serene, heart wrenching and heart warming, from love at first sight till love over boundaries of the unknown, this is a quintessential love story across ages, countries and mediums. The scenery, cinematography, close ups and definitely the pretty faces, are extremely beautiful.
It is slow. By slow, I mean long shots and painstaking waits, yet the director tried its best to reach the point where the audience is feeling the same anxiousness, loss of hope and grim future that the actors experience.
Sadly, like all Bollywood movies, once scene in the end ends up playing to the galleries and spoiling a well constructed script. Ah well, that's the way it is.
