Review of Match Point (2005) by Christopher J — 20 Aug 2009
Definitely not the movie Woody Allen tends to make but this has to be the best of his career. Thrilling, spell-binding and brilliant, Match Point is the story of a down on his luck tennis pro that meets a woman with money and connections.
Eventually, he settles down and marries her. While going to dinner one evening, he meets his brother in law's temptress girlfriend. Infatuated with her, he starts a torrid affair to the point where she asks him to leave his wife since she has become pregnant.
The way this movie ends will blow your mind. Allen's best script and should have won him a Best Director Oscar. Highly recommend it.
