Review of Match Point (2005) by Emy F — 10 Jan 2010
A good strong thriller from new yorks favourite anxious jew. Once again woody gets great performances out of his cast and proves that he can make a good film outside of his beloved city. By no means the best film on his long and illustrious CV but for a guy of his age and work ethic its very commendable. He's still trying to make his definitve serious (*Bergman*) picture and this will not be it but the script keeps you on the edge of your seat and the film has 2 or 3 great set pieces.
And anyone who says its very un-Woody Allen has obviously not seen any of his films other than annie hall and manhattan.
