Review of Match Point (2005) by Mildred S — 03 Jul 2011
The third act steals so heavily from Dostoevsky yet manages to be original and suspenseful. Well written and enjoyable with outstanding photography and performances this is easily Woody's best of the decade.
Sexy, morally aligned with 'Crime and Punishment', not to mention the tremendous operatic score make this a tight thriller with enough philosophy to please any non-Allen fan - in fact, 'Match Point' feels nothing like a Woody Allen film making it more appealing to any (moron) who doesn't enjoy his movies.
