Review of Masters of the Universe (1987) by Janne N — 19 May 2010
Stupid movie. It goes like this: the opening theme is a rip-off of "Superman," the opening scene is a rip-off of "Star Wars" and the rest of it is just the unveiling of a bad plot that is made worse by a lot of bad acting.
Oh yeah, and it was also dragged out. I doubt that making it shorter would have made it that much better, but it would have at least numbed the feeling of boredom a little bit. The only thing I kind of liked about it was at the end when they are talking about the use of the phrase "Good journey" as opposed to "Good bye"; I guess I am just a softy for that kind of stuff.
Still, it would have helped if I actually cared enough about the characters to wish that they did have a good journey. If you liked the TV show (which I never watched), you can give it a shot, though do not say I did not warn you.
Otherwise, I do not recommend it.
