It's taken me 23 years to finally sit through this movie and if I don't see it again for anothe 23 years, it will be too soon. This movie might have been fun if it had a little more money to blow on special effects and acting.

Instead, we get a run of the mill 1980's schlock fest. Instead of taking place in Eternia, most of the movie takes place in Whittier, Calif. and there is a subplot about Courtney Cox and her boyfriend and her deceased parents that totally eclipses the He-Man story and He-Man and everyone else in the movie become side characters.

Beastman is a small character and Skeletor is around much for us to realize that he is in fact the villain. As for Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, I can understand why he went on the press junket criticizing this movie.

He is basically reduced to be a second character thanks to the Cox character and Billy Barty as an annoying little troll named Gwildor who is a substitute for Orco but comes off as a 1980's version of Jar-Jar Binks.

While Michael Bay and everyone else seems to recapture their 1980's childhoods by inflicting G.I. Joe and Transmformers movies on us, I don't think they can make an up to date version as bad as this one, becasuse it is very, very awful.
