Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by Harry K — 02 Jun 2009
Beautiful and immersive, with an engaging plot and excellent acting. The battles at sea make the ones in Pirates of the Caribbean look ridiculous. The film is based on a series of 24 books, and having read the first one I was surprised and delighted to find just how well the film captures the chemistry of the friendship beteen the two main characters.
I look forward to reading the rest.
