A film filled with compelling shots of beauty and grandeur complete with great period battle shots and gorgeous visual effects, wonderfully directed by Academy Award nominee Peter Weir! Yet the film brilliantly touches on each characters and how they fare and cope through the high seas.
An enjoyable historical film, this is a more sophisticated film compared to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise but on a similiar genre.
