Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by I Don't Know W — 22 Aug 2011
This sea epic came out at the same time as Pirates of the Caribbean, and there were plans to make it into a series. The two films were quite different, though -- while this was a straightforward and realistic Napoleonic War flick based off of a series of books, the latter was based off of a goddamn THEME PARK RIDE.
Guess which one took off as a series? *grumble*.
