Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by Jason M — 10 Jul 2012
Perfect movie about sea-farring. The historical accuracy in this film is one of the greatest achievements in recent filmmaking. This also has some of the best sound design that you will ever hear. I will admit, it definitely drags in parts and people with short attention spans will fall asleep, but those willing to take the journey will literally be taking a journey through time.
Sea warfare was a brief part of human history, but it was one of the most interesting and intense parts of humanity in the lead up to the industrial revolution.
