Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by Eric M — 06 Feb 2013
A nice movie, with decent characters and solid acting. It's main fault is that it basically has no plot, except for "we have to capture that ship! Period.". Paul Bettany almost seems to do a prequel for his Creation film and Russel Crowe plays the usual noble leader -- yet these characters are well played.
There's nothing much beyond that, it's decent as an adventure film, yet it's not a film that will be remembered for long.
