Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by Andre T — 04 Jun 2011
Absolute stunning and exciting historical naval movie.Directed by Peter Weir, starring Russell Crowe as Jack Aubrey, with Paul Bettany as Stephen Maturin . The film's plot and characters are adapted from three novels in author Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series which has a total of 20 novels of Jack Aubrey's naval career.
This one, The far side of the world, is one of the best, showing a pursuit between th english ship, the Hms surprise, and the french ship, the privateer Acheron. The cinematography is fantastic, almost like an oil painting, and the music leave us breathless.
Ahoy, gentlemen!
