Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by Robert P — 06 Aug 2012
Firstly I have to say that this is a very unique film indeed as I have never seen another film like it. This film has the potential to be a complete disaster if it had a low budget but luckily this was not the case as it has an excellent cast (with the main actor being Russell Crowe, along with some other actors you will probably recognise), some excellent CGI and amazing set piece battles at sea (the last battle was particularly impressive).
This film gives a brilliant insight into an era and type of warfare that most people probably did not know much about before seeing the film. Overall this is an excellent film that will appeal to historical film fans as well as your 'average' film fan due to its superbly high quality.
