Review of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) by Ryan J — 11 Aug 2010
An extremely epic and well-made film. This flick takes place in 1805 and follows the story of a British frigate thats under the command of "Lucky" Jack Aubrey (Russell Crowe). His orders are to capture or destroy a French frigate.
The task isn't easy though as Aubrey and his crew find that the French frigate is bigger and faster, which puts them at an extreme disadvantage. The film also displays his struggling friendship with the ship's doctor, due to his single-mindedness to capture the enemy's ship.
Very well acted and intense action sequences.
