Offsets the horrors of war by showing the childish, stupid things that men will do to keep from going insane. I suppose this is potentially profound, but it just seemed stupid to me. Also, it seems very unlikely that there would be that many really good looking women in Korea (there's way too much sex in this movie, it feels very unrealistic).
When they aren't performing these antics that range from slightly funny to annoying, we are treated to scene after scene of boring surgeries and doctors mumbling to each other.
