Review of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) by Dan C — 18 Dec 2007
Well, having not even seen the original (which apparently strays greatly from the book), I'd say that this is a well done and surprisingly fast paced adaptation. The beginning seemed a bit choppy at points, but the later half of the film is very well done in nearly all respects.
Unfortunately though, this contains my least favorite Deniro performance. Ever. He sort of massacred the part of the monster and made him seem like a whiney dipshit, taking any sort of intelligence that was present in the book.
