Review of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) by Zak W — 08 Sep 2008
This retelling of the classic story, directed by Kenneth Branagh, is a much more complex tale of love, paternity, and insanity vs genius.
Kenneth Branagh as the good Doctor, as well as Bobby DeNiro's performance as the MONSTER, are very well done and not overly hammy as both actors have occasionally succumbed to, and the movie is overall a fitting companion piece to the original Karloff version.
