Ms Ronan gives another fine performance here. But I couldnâ(TM)t help but get distracted, and ultimately annoyed, by the filmâ(TM)s one-too-many politically correct components which stuck out like sore thumbs in what is supposed to be a historical period piece.
The end result was a sad conglomeration of diminished authenticity and preening social awareness .
