What a slow moving, dreary movie. What could have been an interesting historical drama was turned into a virtue-sginaling reinterpretation of history. For example, the court had copious black advisors, that simply didn't exist in England and scotland at that time.

There was a large subpot of Mary's gay or bisexual husband, but he was neither. Mary's male advisors were mostly portrayed in a very poor light, but Mary was the very model of an enlightened ruler.

I wish I had not wasted my time on this tiresome drama, and hope that you don't waste your money on seeing it in a theater.
