Love love loved this movie! Just saw it last night and it hit all my nostalgia buttons. It reminded me of the feeling I had as a little girl burning a hole in my VHS copy of the original. So much crying and so many feels! I wasnï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t expecting to cry SO much.
The film left me with a feeling of hope and joy, especially with the uplifting finale (dad joke lol). Iï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)ve been singing and humming the tunes ever since. I knew once we got to ï¿ 1/2 1/2Can You Imagine Thatï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â? that I was off on another romp with the Marie Poppins that I remember! I was so very pleased and impressed with everyoneï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s performances.
I might even have to buy this on DVD, or go see it again in the theater. Maybe theyï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)ll release it in a set with the original? Thatï¿ 1/2(TM)d be nice. This felt like a spiritual successor to the original to me.
Disney has me hooked and now I wouldnï¿ 1/2(TM)t mind seeing more of these! Poppins-verse all the way! Emily Blunt did a marvelous job, LOVED Meryl, the kids were charming and felt authentic, I totally believed the grown up versions of Jane and Michael (BTW the actor who played Michael really impressed me), more Lin Manuel in everything please, well done to Jane for following in her motherï¿ 1/2(TM)s footsteps (I love that actressï¿ 1/2(TM)s work), the lawyer with a conscience stole my heart, and now I totally ship Jack and Jane! Well done everyone! You left me wanting more and warmed my heart!
