"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should," is the perfect summary for this movie. Mary Poppins Returns never recaptures the magic that the first one created. The songs were flat, characters were unnecessary and the story was far too long.
You could almost take any chunk out of the movie and it would still sound the same. Too be honest, Mary Poppins was very forgettable in her own movie, to no fault of Emily Blunt. As a matter of fact, she is the lone light in the entire movie; which again, goes to show how dim the movie was.
Mary Poppins Returns is just another run of the mill children's movie of our time.
