Review of Mary Poppins Returns (2018) by Ariel V — 06 Jan 2019

There was much to enjoy and reminisce in the film. I felt like I left the theater a little let down. So much of the sequel was a reminder of the original, but it dd not stand out much in it's own right.

I thought Emily Blunt was fine, with a little less charm than Andrews, but a lack of strong songs (in a musical) failed to develop the other characters or the story. It was just okay and a nice try but I don't think it was be remembered much except to be shared with children after seeing the original.
