When we went to see the original, we all came out of the cinema singing "Let's go Fly a Kite" or "Chim Chim Cheroo" or "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". When we came out of the cinema after seeing the return, we all came out of the cinema singing "Let's go Fly a Kite" or "Chim Chim Cheroo" or "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". It may be etched familiarity, but I can't help feeling despite the excellent performances of the cast, that the new songs were simply not catchy o'r memorable enough. Throwing in one or two of the classics might just have helped lift this that little bit further. Maybe they needed to watch the original one more time before making the final cut?
Also, since when does Mary Poppins snap into line with a "Yes Sir"?
