Review of Mary Poppins Returns (2018) by Judy S — 29 Dec 2018
First, this cannot be compared to "Original" Mary Poppins. That's a Classic and will remain so forever. These were BIG shoes to fill, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke made this movie legendary.
But I am happy to say the new cast did a wonderful job. It's up lifting, the new songs are catchy and it's the first movie in an extremely long time that tingles at the "Imagination".
It makes you smile. Will it be a Classic? Probably not. I like the songs, but not as memorable as the Chimney Sweep Song, or su·per·ca·li·fra·gil·is·tic·ex·pi·a·li·do·cious, or a spoon full of sugar.
But I did like Under the London Sky. It's a great day in the movies for FAMILY. Disney always strike Gold.
