I have to admit, the first 20 minutes or so I was rolling my eyes. Then I started thinking about the original Mary Poppins and how long it's been since we've actually had a movie like this come out. I don't remember the last time I saw a movie like this. Lately it's been all about super heroes. The further I got into the movie, the more I began to appreciate this movie. I don't care whether this movie was necessary or not. Most movies aren't necessary. I thought this movie was absolutely delightful. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it's very predictable, bu who cares? It's just fun.

Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda are excellent. They are just so talented. The kids are pretty amazing too. The costumes and musical numbers are colorful and creative.

I see a lot of people bashing the movie, and that is just too bad. I had tears in my eyes just remembering how much I loved Mary Poppins when I was a kid. And there were a lot of kids, as well as adults, in the theater who just loved it.
