Blunt,Streep, Walters, Landsbury, Dick Van Dyke put some life into the movie. But overall, it was slow, heavy, unmusical, and unmagical. I dare you to sing ONE tune from the musical. The tunes were not memorable.
The plot was a formula, based on the original....which kept reminding the viewer that the people in the original, whether it was singing, or acting, or dance...did it better.
