I am not a fan of Disney remakes. I adore Disney but I think there has been a trend of remaking movies or doing sequels instead of finding new material.
That being said I am a fan of this movie. It doesn't attempt to replace the original but only complement it. I would say it's a reflection of the original. Emily's voice is as pleasant as Julie's. The songs aren't quite as catchy as "Mary Poppins" but they are good. I hate CGI but I liked the retro feel to the cartoon portion of this movie because they kept the cartoony part and didn't try to make it too 2018.
