Review of Mary Poppins Returns (2018) by Riley N — 20 Dec 2018
Emily Blunt is stunning, as always, but is overshadowed in this film by Lin Manuel-Miranda's blinding incandescence. The movie, as a whole, is nearly a scene-for-scene rehash of the original film, and, while performed well by nearly everyone, the new score fell flat.
The animation sequences were inarguably beautiful, do not redeem this film's shortcomings.
