Review of Mary Poppins (1964) by Matthew C — 26 Dec 2010
This was an interesting Disney movie to me when I saw it at the age of 6; it was all live action (I would later realize Walt Disney made live action movies as well as animated movies) with animation combined when the movie reaches 41 minutes when they all go into the chalk drawing.
But as I grew older, I later would recognize some behind the scenes info about this movie and the word, which was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (the title of the song in the near ending of the animated sequences written by the Sherman Brothers).
A fine cast, music score, and matte paintings by artist Peter Ellenshaw makes this one of Disney's crowning achievements. Give this movie a watch; you won't be disappointed!
