Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Daisy M — 09 May 2014
An animated clay figures film in sepia, narrated most of the time and some short dialogues, with a profound story about friendship.
A pen friendship between two special people, a girl 8 years old and a 48 years old man with Asperger syndrome born in a Jewish family but now an atheist.
The film, I think, is correctly rated as PG-13, is not for little kids. Some issues as discrimination, bullying, racism, alcoholism, gay union, atheism, lost faith and the self-help myth are presented in this film.
