Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Cw M — 04 May 2011
Put this in your queue now. a stop-motion magical little australian film about an aspergers NYC guy (voiced perfectly by phillip seymour hoffman) and an australian girl (toni collette) who become penpals.
this aint by-the-numbers, there are plenty of little shocks to keep you engaged all through the movie, as if the beautiful little sets and odd characters wouldnt. pink martini's darkened cover of "que sera sera" kicks in at a pivotal moment toward the end that is simply sublime.
see this movie.
