Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Patrick G — 17 May 2013
Describing the clay-structured animation as "depression mixed with an ounce of comedy", this film follows the story of an unusual, bloomed friendship between an eight year old girl and a middle-aged man.
Thought-provoking and poignantly dramatic. It's almost memoir-like. The score was brilliant. I actually learned a lot. It made me cried because it was that beautiful and heart-breaking and downright original.
