Review of Mary and Max (2009) by Nancy C — 09 Jun 2013
5/5 --- "People often think I am tactless and brute, I cannot understand how being honest can be improper. Maybe this is why I don't have any friends.".
AHAHA! A quirky fun comedic stylistically cool but also quite dark real relatable movie about friendship, family, people we meet and things that happen in life to us and how we react to them [os what makes the difference]. Yes all from a stop-animation film, but for adults. Wow, cried at the end.
"A real friend is one of my three goals in life...".
The detail is amazing, as is the dialogue/script. Perfectly done. Really made me think about my friendships and family.
"Do not worry about not smiling, my mouth hardly ever smiles, but it does not mean I am not smiling inside my brain.".
You'll learn about anxiety attacks, agoraphobia, chocolate hotdogs, fish #8, lottery, being yourself and more! And how cool it is to have a pen pal :) I love old fashion typewriters!
