Review of Martyrs (2008) by Nicole T — 22 Mar 2011
When I was told about this movie the description was: "I have a friend who watches scary movies on his own and laughs at them, and for this movie he turned it off after 20 minutes." so of course this caught my attention, and me being the way I am, I needed to watch this.
So I watched it and I wouldn't say it was scary.. So much as it was really screwed up. It's basically about this secret organization that abducts people (usually young women) to try to find martyrs, in the population of our world.
It makes you cringe and it makes you wonder about society but did I scream off of it? No. Did I cover my eyes? Maybe once. Again more screwed up rather then horror filled.
