Jumps the rails in its second half, when we're supposed to be evaluating our penchant for watching this kind of movie (a la Haneke) and/or coming to a closer understanding of what kind of emotional state the heroine is experiencing.
Given the ending, I lean toward the latter intent, but the director doesn't do anything to earn our emotional investment.
