I gave it a shot, and while its a very refreshing and stylish piece of entertainment in horror and gore, it severely lacks in story and overall message. the opening is very strong yet after that point, it just becomes a whole different movie.

Also, the two lead actresses were pretty good, not great, not to mention they're gorgeous. But I felt the one who was constantly tormented by the imaginary demon, was both tedious and idiotic. We're supposed to believe she's been living with this monster tormenting her from being a child, but she doesn't realize it's not real yet, when she's what- in her late 20s, early 30s? I felt this oversight detracted from the movie and it got repetitive and annoying, every time the monster appeared and this 1/2 of the two leads would fall down on knees and start attacking herself. I also feel like this movie was made with the sole intention of shocking its viewers- the director really amped up the gore effects, and I felt like the whole time, he was just trying to gross us out as much as possible. This movie is not made to be enjoyed by the audience, rather to make them look in shock and examine their own psyche. Maybe the actual message went well above my head, but I didn't get the movie, and what everyone loved about it so much...
