Review of Martyrs (2008) by Cem D — 26 May 2013

A brutal horror movie that starts well enough before treading a well worn path that really undoes the good that had gone before. The first 60 minutes of part psychological terror really works before being undone in a clumsy final act that attempts to question are compliance in what we are watching.

It does so in a rather hap-handed way as it tries to tie the story into a greater theme that just didn't work for me, although it was an interesting concept to attempt.
