This movie was not "intelligent" as many people here claim. It was torture porn. And a LOT of it. If you're into that sort of thing, you're really gonna love it. It actually starts off exciting and intense and scary, then it just turns into some dark diary entry of a disturbed teenage goth kid.

After discovering the results of the unimaginable brutalization of a young woman, I remember thinking, "wow that's fucked up I sure am glad the conclusion is around the corner." Nope. I checked how much time was left; 30 minutes. Thirty more minutes of the brutalization, humiliation, and torture of another woman. Totally pointless. If you think this movie is intelligent, you're an idiot, or French.
